There have been several people ask me to write about this subject. Though I love sharing my testimony, I want it to make perfect sense and be a blessing to those who read it.
That being said, It has taken me quite a while to write this.
I think I've started typing and erased it a dozen times or more.
How do you put something so amazing into words?
How do you describe the feeling of accepting Jesus into your heart?
I did so when I was five years old.
I am blessed to remember that day so vividly. The day was March 31st, 2008. I was a five-year-old girl who knew she was lost and needed a savior.
The days leading up to my salvation were very convicting ones.
The Lord had been dealing with me for some time and I was finally starting to truly understand salvation. I knew Jesus had died for my sin. I knew he was buried and rose again on the third day. I was a preacher's kid. I heard the gospel preached and taught every week. Though I had not committed a lifetime of sins, I was still a sinner who would've died and gone to hell had I not accepted Christ.
I specifically remember having a horrible dream the night before I got saved. I had dreamt I woke up in hell and there was torture all around me. Screams, gnashing of teeth, utter darkness.
All I could think was if this is a dream and I awake, I won't wait any longer.
I would finally ask the Lord to save me so I never have to experience this awful place called Hell.
The following day I told my parents I needed to be saved.
We knelt beside our couch in the living room, and they took me through some verses, making sure I understood exactly what salvation was.
I then asked Jesus to come into my heart and save me right then and there.
That day was almost fifteen years ago and I can truly say It was the best decision of my life.
I have never regretted it for one moment. The peace and comfort that washed over me is unexplainable. I never have to worry about where I'll spend eternity.
I know I will never have to fear going to hell and experiencing that awful place.
The fact that someone would love me enough to die for me still leaves me in wonder.
There have been many days when His grace and mercy have carried me.
He's never failed me when I needed Him most.
He's always been faithful and true.
~HOW YOU CAN KNOW JESUS AS YOUR SAVIOR~
If you've never accepted Christ as your savior, these scriptures will help you to understand how to be saved.
Acts 4:12 "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works lest any man should boast."
To accept Jesus as your savior, you must first ask Him to come into your heart and forgive you of all your sins. Believe that He is God. Believe that He died for your sins and rose again.
It's really that simple. If you do this, you will spend eternity with Jesus and all those before you who have believed.
Amen! ❤️
